customized information systems for multiple channels, including mobile devices. Web Toolkit now provides additional flexibility in the page design process, enabling users to define their own distinctive, individual grid layout. Content is automatically formatted to fit a defined grid. New
applications and web pages can be easily added to an existing portal, with no additional synchronization required.
|
|
 |
 |
Web Toolkit has been designed to cut costs and complexity in creating fully customized financial information systems for multi-channel communications. |
|
 |
| |
Part of Interactive Data’s PrimeDeveloper
product range, Web Toolkit comprises a range of modules that can be
flexibly tailored to customer requirements. It is integrated with
the Market Data Gateway, designed to allow users to deploy
comprehensive applications without the need to provide dedicated
hardware and maintenance capabilities.
The platform provides access to a wide
range of reference and master data, news and contributed data,
delivered in real-time, end-of-day or delayed, as well as a
comprehensive set of analytical tools. Other features include the
option to seamlessly integrate proprietary data, as well as
user-based data permissioning.
Web Toolkit uses modern web
technologies, such as AJAX and established PHP frameworks, to develop
software within an industrial strength internet environment.

Interactive Data participates in EU research project FIRST |
|
|
 |
Interactive Data is contributing its long-term technical and market
expertise to the research project FIRST which is funded by the
European Union.
The project’s objective is building a large scale information extraction
and integration infrastructure for supporting financial decision
making. FIRST looks into filtering, interpreting and aggregating
vast amounts of relevant financial information from the Internet and
providing |
 |
 |
consolidated data to financial institutions. Besides
traditional financial market data, sources include reports, entries
in Web blogs and forums. The processed data is aimed at departments
within financial institutions such as market supervision or risk and
investment management as well as end clients who use online banking
and online brokerage services. The initiative, launched in October
2010, is planned to last three years.
Making vast amounts of data manageable
Companies and universities participating in FIRST
include Interactive Data and the Goethe University Frankfurt. These
companies are currently shaping an IT infrastructure designed to
make it possible to process and interpret the growing amounts of
data. Interactive Data is using its technical expertise to help
shape the specification and implementation of this IT
infrastructure. The company contributes to the project through its
long-term experience gained from numerous client projects in retail
brokerage and investment management.
“There exists an
incredibly complex supply of unstructured information out there
which includes numerous opinions from a variety of sources,
especially forums, blogs and social networks. We aim to assist by
condensing this information so that retail clients are no longer
dependent on the opinions of individual market participants but can
fall back on a broader base of information for their
decision-making”, says Michael Diefenthäler, Manager, Business
Development at Interactive Data Managed Solutions.

TV channel uses PrimeDeveloper for business news program |
|
|
Interactive Data is powering financial
information on French Business television through its PrimeDeveloper
offering. Since November 2010, the Paris-based financial TV news
channel BFM Business has used PrimeDeveloper to supplement its daily
business news program with financial data from Interactive Data.
The information, including top/flop lists for Euronext and the US
markets, is provided as a running display via a ticker board. In
addition, charts are shown every 30 minutes during news broadcasts
and the French leading index CAC 40 is displayed regularly on the
backdrop to the news presenter.

Interactive Data provides BFM's news program with financial information, including top/flop lists for Euronext and the US markets, as well as the French leading index CAC.
|

BFM Business uses an Application Programming
Interface (API) from Interactive Data’s PrimeDeveloper offering to
populate information on screens and displays information in a
flexible way.
The relationship, another important step into
the French media landscape for Interactive Data, was announced at
the annual BFM Awards in Paris in November 2010.
BFM
Business’s news programme fills a gap in the French TV landscape
left by the departure of Bloomberg in 2008. The TV channel belongs
to the French NextRadioTV group, which provides radio, and
television broadcasting services in France. The programs are
broadcast on digital TV (TNT), cable and satellite, as well as via
telephone and on the Internet. NextRadioTV also owns
commercial radio stations, information and sports broadcasting and
engages in magazine publishing and operates web sites in France.
